Ravines Wine Cellars Hits the High Marks

Quickly becoming a household name in the greater Finger Lakes region, Ravines Wine Cellars is making heads turn all over the world. The winery is owned by France native Morten Hallgren and his Texas-born wife Lisa. Together they opened Ravines in 1999 and in 2000 they planted their first vines at White Springs Vineyard. At the time that land was owned by a friend, but over the years, the Hallgrens have acquired the land as their own. In addition to the White Springs Vineyard site at the northeast end of Seneca Lake, which is where the majority of Ravines’ grapes are produced, the Hallgrens source their grapes from Argetsinger Vineyard and 16 Falls Vineyards, both located on Seneca.

Ravines Wine Cellars currently makes nearly 15 different wines at the winery with two tasting rooms open to the public: one at their White Springs Vineyard location on Seneca Lake, and the other located on the Keuka Lake wine trail.
