Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and the only better thing to celebrate with than chocolate is local chocolate, of course! This week, we’re highlighting a different Finger Lakes chocolatier each day. Today we’re checking out Hedonist Chocolates and their Valentine’s Day specials.

Hedonist Chocolates

“We find our bliss in chocolate.” —Hedonist Chocolate

Started in Rochester in 2007 by Jennifer Posey and Zahra Langford, Hedonist Chocolates do it all by hand. Using French chocolate and always fresh, natural ingredients, each piece of chocolate is rolled, cut, dipped and decorated by hand in small batches. In 2013 Hedonist became entirely owned by Jennifer Posey. So what’s up with the name? According to their website, a hedonist is “someone whose life is devoted to the pursuit of sensual pleasures. We find our bliss in chocolate and we hope to help you do the same.”

Their Valentine’s Day collection Love Struck highlights raspberry truffles, espresso raspberry bark, a mixed truffle bag, and Spice: a collection exploring a range of heats and spices. The Spice collection flavors include Raspberry Wasabi, Orange Chipotle, Peanut Butter Cayenne, Coconut Curry and Lemon Pepper. There are those sensual pleasures of the hedonist. Along those lines, they also offer drinking chocolate, both bittersweet and cinnamon chipotle.

We could go on and on about what we think sounds good, but why not trust the chocolatiers? Hedonist offers a Chocolatiers Choice box, which contains a variety of truffles and fruit/nut clusters paired by the chocolatier. Perhaps you might even get an experimental flavor! These boxes come with 20 pieces and enough chocolate to keep you busy all Valentine’s Day weekend.

674 South Avenue, Rochester, 585.461.2815, hedonistchocolates.com, Open daily 10am-9pm
