Our Drinks Issue is Here.

Subscriber copies are hitting mail boxes all around the region (and country really, thanks to our dedicated readers who don’t live here) and we are starting distribution to our advertiser locations – but we wanted to let you know that the new edition is out and available online HERE if you want a sneak peak before reading the paper version.

The Drinks issue one of our most fun and most-highly anticipated editions of the year. We think this one has something for everyone and we hope it captures the essence of the region and the exciting and dynamic beer, wine, cider and spirits industry. We’ve even got a few non-booze stories in here for the teetotallers among us.

First off is Amy Zavatto’s feature on the canned wines craze that is taking over the region. We talk to local winemakers at Lakewood, Villa Bellangelo, VinNY and Fox Run Vineyards to get the inside on what is making these wines so popular with wineries and consumers alike.

Speaking of consuming, have you noticed the explosion of local craft beer? You can’t drive around the region without seeing a new brewery opening up somewhere. That’s a lot of beer to try and Canandaigua beer enthusiast David Diehl has our picks for certain beers that you have to try, based on category. Not an IPA person? The Unfinished Business Scottish Ale from Brewery of Broken Dreams might be your new favorite.

We’ve got a profile of Ryan William Vineyard on the East side of Seneca Lake, a great write up of the food at the Cider House in Interlaken, a mouth-watering piece on Thai By Night kitchen in Canandaigua and lots of other little goodies for you to read.

We hope you enjoy this issue as much as we enjoyed putting it together! Please pick up a copy at one of our advertiser locations and support our efforts to bring you great local food and wine stories by subscribing.

Happy summer. Drink up!
