We’re launching a new series about the locally made items you can buy in grocery stores across the region.

A lot of attention is being put on farms, restaurants and wineries during the COVID-19 pandemic, and deservedly so. But there are hundreds of small scale food producers in the Finger Lakes who continue to make their products available using local ingredients. And since grocery stores and markets are open, they offer us all a way to support our local economy, simply by keeping these staples in your kitchen. These businesses create local jobs, use farm fresh products and help make our food shed strong. They deserve your support during these difficult times, and their products are worth every penny.
Most of these items can be found in shops like Wegmans, Tops and Shur-Save. Many coops like Greenstar, Lori’s, Abundance, and the Syracuse Coop carry them too. You can also order direct from several of these businesses on their websites.
Thank you for eating and drinking locally made goods. It’s more important than ever right now!
If your business wants to be included in our Finger Lakes Pantry series, reach out to us via social media or email.
