This year, many Finger Lakes restaurants are not only facing the usual late-winter slowdown, but also a hit in business due to COVID-19.
So the Skaneateles Lake Chamber of Commerce has taken action to help eateries in its community. Specifically, it has organized a restaurant week for the first time that kicks off on Monday, February 15.
For a full week, or until Sunday, Feb. 21st, about 14 participating food and beverage establishments will have a variety of special deals. Hilary Fenner, Executive Director of the Skaneateles Area Chamber of Commerce, said that this first restaurant week was organized with an emphasis on takeout as a safe and enjoyable way for the community to pull together and help businesses that are struggling with the usual slower season and COVID-19 regulations such as capacity limitations.
“We are hoping this will be a nice community effort to support all the restaurants that we love and don’t want to lose,” she said.
There will also be a raffle going on throughout the week. For every $10 that customers spend at participating restaurants, they’ll receive a raffle ticket. The drawing for a prize will take place on Facebook and Instagram on Monday, February 22nd at 3 p.m. Friday, February 26th will be the deadline for winners to claim their prize.
Deals during the week include dinner for two at Blue Water Grill for $35 (two salads, entrees, and chimichanga for dessert!) and a $20 marketplace credit for those who purchase a 2021 CSA through Doce Lume Farm.
