The CSA Innovation Network has created a week to raise awareness of CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture) across the country! It’s called National CSA Week. CSAs involve the consumer paying in advance for a “share” of a local farmer’s crop. This year it runs from Feb. 21 to 28. For a few Finger Lakes CSAs and hardworking farmers to support, check out the link below!
Fort Baptist Farm: The share for this farm based in Ithaca contains 20 weeks of lush, organically produced vegetables. It also supports individuals and families that are typically underserved. Learn more by visiting www.facebook.com/ft.baptist.farm
Main Street Farms: This CSA share is based in Cortland. It merged with Early Morning Farm in 2020 and started selling its CSA Shares at the Ithaca Farmers Market. Today, you can easily sign up online! The share starts in late-June and runs through late November. During the growing season, farm-fresh produce is delivered weekly to the Cortland Beer Company, Ithaca Farmers Market, and the Syracuse Market. Learn more by visiting mainstreetfarms.com/
Georgic Farm: Enjoy organic produce from this farm in Virgil by participating in their Summer 2021 CSA Share! It begins in early to mid June and runs until October. The pickup is Fridays from 4-7PM and Saturdays from 9AM-12PM during the farmers market, both at Hollenbeck’s Cider Mill. Learn more by visiting facebook.com/georgicfarm/.
