Edible Finger Lakes is pleased to announce that Erin McMurrough has joined the team as Editor for the print magazine. In her new role, McMurrough will focus on developing story ideas and working with writers and photographers to uncover the food and beverage bounty of the Finger Lakes. She will work closely with Edible Finger Lakes Digital Editor, Shannon Hazlitt Harts, to provide Edible readers with the best of all the great stories about the Finger Lakes food shed.
McMurrough holds an MA in Creative Writing from Northwestern University and has been a contributing writer to Edible Finger Lakes since 2019. Prior to that, she was the Events and News Editor for the Finger Lakes Wine Gazette. She has completed the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 and holds an introductory certificate from the Court of Master Sommeliers. McMurrough also works in the trenches of the Finger Lakes craft beverage scene—she’s the brand manager for Lakewood Vineyards and also part of the Stamp family.
A native of Chicago, McMurrough has a background in theatre production and has lived and worked in Chicago, London, New York, Sydney and Perth. Since moving to the area in 2012, she has fallen in love with the Finger Lakes—the beauty, the food, the wine and most of all, her husband, vineyard manager Dave Stamp and their daughter Quinn. She’s still on the fence about their rambunctious Australian shepherd, Cake Pan.
