The first weekend in March is almost here! Although the month is coming in “like a lion” with chilly temperatures, there has been some sunshine as a sign of the season to come. We have rounded up a list of events to enjoy the region’s bountiful food and beverage scene this weekend no matter what the weather has in store, including a virtual cooking class and wine tasting experience, a winter farmer’s market, and a drive-up pancake breakfast at a farm that produces fresh maple syrup!
Friday, March 5
6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Make Your Own Gnocchi Class: Not only will this virtual class through the Rochester Brainery teach you how to make what are known as “pillow” dumplings, but it’s also a fundraiser for the Pet Adoption Network!
Saturday, March 6
10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. 2021 Winter Ithaca Farmers Market: Enjoy a selection of locally-grown produce and other products in a COVID-safe socially distanced environment at the Triphammer Marketplace atrium in Ithaca.
3 p.m. Hector Wine Company Virtual Tasting: Learn about a selection of wines from Hector Wine Company, including the Soul Red, the 2018 Dry Riesling and 2017 Semi-Dry Riesling, and the new release 2019 Cabernet Franc, via a Zoom virtual tasting with winemaker Alexandra Bond! The featured wines can be picked up from the tasting room with a contactless, curbside pickup option. You can register for the event by emailing alex@hectorwinecompany.com.

Sunday, March 7
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pancake Sundays at Kettle Ridge Farm: Enjoy a stack of pancakes and other delicious breakfast comfort foods served with farm-fresh maple syrup at this drive-up event in Victor! Pre-orders must be submitted by noon on Friday.
