It’s been a long wait, but we are excited to share the news that our new edition of the magazine has arrived! Subscribers are getting their copies in the mail and we’ll be sharing the edition at advertiser locations over the next week. We’re calling this our “Late Winter” issue because as we all know that in the Finger Lakes, you can’t be 100% certain that winter is over until late April and it is no surprise when it snows in May. That means we’re still craving soups and fresh bread and warm comfort foods while we wait for those bright fresh green edibles to pop up out of the earth (looking at you asparagus).
This edition has some great stories for you before spring arrives. Check out our new editor Erin McMurrough’s story on the kombucha craze that is taking the Finger Lakes by storm. Tomato season is a long way off, but a local company called Intergrow Greenhouses has a little something for you while you plan your garden. A profile on Silver Thread Vineyards in Lodi will inspire you with stories of sustainable winemaking and David Diehl’s article on Murmuration Malts shows how our booming craft beer industry has created opportunities for supporting players. And there are plenty more stories and recipes to enjoy in this edition.
It’s been a tough year. Why not take a break and read about some of the good things still happening in the Finger Lakes food shed?
Thank you to all of our advertisers and subscribers who made this issue possible. And to our amazing contributors of writers, photographers and designers who made it look so good.
