We’ve officially made it through March! (And luckily that’s not an April Fool’s joke). That means we are even closer to greener days in the Finger Lakes and more plentiful local produce options. However, there are still plenty of ways to support our region’s local food producers before the spring season is in full swing—we’ve rounded up just a few for you to check out this holiday weekend!
Thursday, April 1: 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Spring Pop Up Farmers Market: “Greens, Eggs and Hams”: Support around 13 local vendors including Stewart’s Family Farm, Muddy Fingers Farm, and Seneca Sunrise Coffee at this pop-up market hosted by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Schuyler County at the Watkins Glen Performing Arts Center (the old middle school).
Saturday, April 2, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fruition Seed’s Garden Store in Naples is Open! Stock up on supplies to start your spring garden out the right way by checking out this garden store that’s open on weekends through the end of May. There you can find seeds as well as compost, lights, organic transplants, hand hoes, and more!
Saturday, April 3: 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Easter Cheese Pie Virtual Class: Learn how to make Easter Cheese Pie, a rich Italian dessert made with ricotta cheese, with this class via Zoom provided by the Rochester Brainery.
Sunday, April 4: 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Easter Dinner at Glenora Wine Cellars: Celebrate Easter at Veraisons Restaurant with seasonal cuisine, holiday favorites, and house-made baked goods! Seatings are at 12:00, 2:00, & 4:00PM. Reservations required.
