Happy Spring! There’s something positive to be said for each turn of season of course, but this shift into spring might be our favorite here at Rasa Spa. The longer light-filled days both literally and figuratively fuel us. Here are our top reasons for loving spring:
1. More Vitamin D. More sunshine in the day, and plenty of sunshine-filled days naturally allow our bodies to absorb more Vitamin D. Every year when the longer days set in, it’s always apparent we’ve been lacking in the Vitamin D department. Spring pulls us outside for walks, gardening, swimming, and our area’s amazing waterfalls. With proper protection of course, let the sunshine in!
2. Longer days. With more daylight in each 24-hour period, the days feel more spacious. We can spend more time outside tending to the garden, watching the birds, or sitting on the porch or back deck with (or without!) a book. Although it might take us a little longer to wind down at the end of the day when we’re able to stretch the daylight, thankfully our circadian rhythm also adjusts and we wake refreshed on spring days.
3. The green. Spring green is the most vibrant green: fresh grass, the leaves on the trees, bulbs popping through the ground. Perhaps it’s just because we’ve missed it so much, but the first greenery of the year always seems so lush. It promises renewal with such a clear visual representation.
4. Spring vegetable soup. We might be a little behind the times, but we recently caught wind of a couple of great spring soup recipes via our social media network. So light and fresh, it’s like tasting spring in a bowl!
We’re looking forward to continuing to celebrate the spring equinox and all that comes with it here in the beautiful Finger Lakes, and we hope you are too!
