FLX Foodie Weekend: April 22nd to 25th

From wine tastings to farmers markets, weekends in the Finger Lakes mean the possibilities for some foodie adventures.

As we get closer to May, one of our favorite activities of the warmer season starts to pick up: farmers’ markets! Last week we mentioned how the Saturdays are now open at the pavilion for Ithaca Farmers Market. This week, we feature the Canandaigua Winter Market, which happens every other Saturday until June, when we will be able to visit every weekend. So we will endure cooler temps a little bit longer, knowing our foodie adventures are only going to get better in the next few weeks!

Friday, April 23: 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Point of The Bluff Food and Wine Pairing: All Things Riesling: Join Point of The Bluff Winery for their first event in their 2021 Wine & Food Pairing series! Enjoy a guided tasting through 4 of their Rieslings, including their library wines. You will be led by our Winemaker, Mike Countryman who will be discussing all things Riesling!

Saturday, April 24: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturdays at the Canandaigua Winter Farmers Market Every other Saturday through May, The Canandaigua Winter Farmers Market brings together farmers and small-scale food processors consisting of approximately 30 vendors who live within a limited radius of Canandaigua, NY. It is Ontario County’s only farmer-run market. 

Saturday, April 24: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Finger Lakes Wine Flour: This virtual class will teach you how to make three different styles of pasta from scratch (no fancy tools required!)

Sunday, April 25 – May 1: 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Pours and Plates hosted by Corning’s Gaffer District: Sunday kicks off a weeklong exploration of the finest pairings of food and spirits historic downtown Corning has to offer.
